Programs and Services

Our programs give youth the chance to learn, teach, and lead through technology. From summer internships to AI leadership development and paid apprenticeships, participants gain hands-on experience while contributing to projects that matter in their schools and communities.

The FOLD

The FOLD is TECH-Nique’s year-long umbrella leadership program designed to engage youth in their leadership development and AI skills acquisition. Members meet each month to explore artificial intelligence, leadership, and personal growth through interactive sessions and retreats. In addition to earning paid leadership opportunities through LinkUp and TECC Boss, members of The FOLD develop AI app solutions for nonprofits and businesses. The program fosters confidence, collaboration, and purpose through technology.

LinkUP

LinkUp is a program that provides FOLD members with real-world leadership experiences where they apply their technology and leadership skills in meaningful ways. Members lead workshops for children ages 5 to 15 at schools, churches, and community centers, teaching tech workshops such as coding, game design, and engineering. They also complete paid projects such as website design and social media support for local nonprofits, using their expertise to serve and strengthen the Louisville community.

All That Tech Conference

All That Tech is the signature program within TECH-Nique’s LinkUp initiative—a youth-led, community-based model that places young people at the center of technology education. This rotating “tech carnival” brings twelve interactive stations in areas such as cybersecurity, social media campaigns, virtual reality, generative AI, robotics, game design, data analytics, engineering, and more directly to schools and community organizations.

During the three-hour, one-day event, participants—typically ages 12 through adult—rotate through multiple 20-minute sessions of their choice. Each station is facilitated by near-peer mentors who guide hands-on, engaging, and accessible experiences designed to spark curiosity and confidence.

All That Tech offers students a “taste of tech” in a fun, low-stakes environment that emphasizes exploration over expertise. Since its inception, the program has reached more than 4,000 students, demonstrating TECH-Nique’s belief that technology leadership belongs to everyone.

The session workshops are led by near-peer mentors from TECC Boss, LinkUp, and The FOLD, providing the facilitators with a paid tech leadership opportunity that supports their own continuous growth.

TECC Boss

TECC Boss is a summer internship program for youth ages 16 to 21. Interns identify a community issue they care about and design a technology based solution. Throughout the program, they build skills in AI, UX/UI, and cybersecurity while developing prototypes and leading workshops for younger learners. TECC Boss is led by managers who were once TECC Boss interns, creating a supportive learning environment shaped by experience and mentorship. After completing the program, interns can continue growing their leadership skills through LinkUp and The FOLD.
